CAFE Financial Advising

CAFE provides free advising and resources to ALL students in various places across campus, covering topics such as: OSU billing, ways to save, scholarship searching, budgeting, financial aid, paying for college plans, and more! We also offer advising for advanced financial topics such as advanced budgeting, debt management, savings, investing, etc. Appointments offered virtually or in-person: book now! Questions? Free Clothing Library

Did you know that CoF has a FREE clothing library for students in need? Classes and jobs in forestry and natural resources sometimes call for specific outdoor gear or professional attire. If you need any of these items, check in at RH 152 any time! If you have clothing in good condition, please consider donating!

Rootstock Food Pantry


Students experiencing food insecurity are invited to visit the College of Forestry Rootstock Food Pantry, located in PFSC 168 (across from the elevator; near the Student Services Office). The pantry is stocked with a number of items and can be visited as often as needed. 

The Rootstock Food Pantry will be open Wednesdays from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. If you need assistance outside of those hours, please locate staff in the department and admin offices that have a Rootstock sign outside their office door.

Students are also welcome to visit the OSU Basic Needs Center for additional resources and help signing up for SNAP benefits.


Basic Needs Center

The Basic Needs Center (BNC) is available to support students with a variety services. If you are facing food insecurity, housing instability, financial stress, or are lacking other basic needs, please be sure to contact the BNC. | They can assist you with completing food assistance applications, identifying emergency housing options, and they operate a food pantry on Wednesdays from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm.

The BNC offers Healthy Beaver Bags every Friday from 12 pm – 2:30 pm. Bring your student ID to pick up one of these themed recipe kits!

Textbook Lending Program


The Textbook Lending Program helps students save money on course materials to mitigate financial stress about meeting basic needs. Students can borrow textbooks for the entire term.

Located in Champinefu Lodge, the BNC hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am – 7:00 pm and Friday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm.

SNAP For Students


Need help buying groceries? The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program can provide $234 a month to eligible individuals. Contact SNAP.HSRC@oregonstate.edu with questions, for application assistance, or if you get denied when you are sure you are eligible.
